Gus was born and raised in Georgia and became a Christ-follower at a young age. He attended the University of Georgia, where he met his wife Nicole. Two years after they were married, they began working as youth leaders at Snellville UMC. It was during this time that they had two children, Bailey and Briana. Gus received a calling into full-time ministry where he began a student outreach ministry, Ignite & Explode, at Snellville UMC.

His work at Snellville UMC and Ignite & Explode further ignited the passion in Gus’s heart for this generation and led him to the position of Student Pastor at The Vine. During his four years as Student Pastor, the Lord allowed Gus to use his strengths of leading relationally and shepherding people to draw out the best of students and leaders in the student ministry at The Vine.

Gus's passion for preaching and leading, along with his desire for people to know that their identity is rooted in being sons and daughters of a good, Heavenly Dad, is why Gus is a great fit for the role of Campus Pastor at The Vine Church. His desire is for all people to walk in the fullness of who God created them to be so that the Lord's will of Heaven on Earth can be accomplished. This has also led him to his role as Director of the Vine School of Supernatural Ministry, where there are deeper teachings and understandings as to what a life living in the identity as son or daughter looks like today as modeled by Jesus in Scripture.
