Scripture (ESV):
John 3:16
Isaiah 7:14
Luke 2:10-11
Teaching Notes:
- The birth of Jesus is Good News!
- God Loved. God Gave. We Believe. We Receive.
- When fear says you’re all alone, Christmas says you're never alone.
- Jesus offers joy to everyone!
Reflection Questions:
1. What are some of the “security blankets” you tend to hold onto when fear or uncertainty shows up in your life? Why do you think those things feel so comforting to you?
2. Linus drops his blanket when he hears the words “Fear not.” What fears feel hardest for you to let go of this Christmas season? What could you replace those fears with?
3. What would change in your heart or mindset if you truly believed that God knows everything about you and loves you anyway? What prevents you from believing that?
4. The good news of Jesus was announced first to lowly shepherds. How does that shape the way you see yourself, especially if you’ve ever felt overlooked, unworthy, or left out?
5. What is one practical way you can refocus on Christ in this season and choose faith over fear? What impact would that make on the people who are closest to you?
